We take those gym memberships, get enrolled for cross-fit, Zumba, aerobics type of workouts in order to achieve results in the best way. But has all this circus been working for you? while it could be a yes for some, a majority of people out there are frustrated that their efforts are not yielding any results. Their weight loss journey or journey towards a healthy life seems to be very stagnant.

There are a lot of other things that contribute towards you reaching your perfect body goals. The way you eat, the lifestyle you’ve selected, all of these need to be considered. 1. Skipping Breakfast
Folks these days live a fast-paced life. They are in a hurry forever. They are in a hurry to reach work, home, gym, party, etc. And the exhaustion that we go through while doing the same makes us want to sleep for extra hours. Extra sleep equals little time to wake up and get ready for the new day ahead. And in the process of doing this, many end up skipping their breakfast. Most of us assume that it’s okay to skip breakfast and do brunch instead. But let’s admit that there’s a reason all nutritionists, doctors, our parents, and grandparents regard breakfast as the first meal and also the most important meal of the day. Studies say that it’s breakfast that fuels you for the rest of the day (1). Therefore, never skip it, or you can end up overeating the rest of your day.
2. There Is A Time For Carbs
You need to understand that all those gains that you manage to get when you hit the gym, they need some source of energy. Carbohydrates are what provides our body with energy for us to work throughout the day and also lift those weights at the gym. If you fail to eat carbs, our body starts taking energy from the protein stored. We cannot afford to lose out on proteins as it is what helps us in our muscle growth. As much as eating carbs is important, eating it at the right time is also important or else carbs get stored in your body as fat. Therefore, keep your carbs intake maximum before noon and limit it to a minimum as your day ends.
3. Training To Failure
Many gym enthusiasts will already know what this means. So, how will your body get that perfect shape? It is only if you keep pushing it beyond its resistance. Today if you managed to lift one weight, do two tomorrow. With every passing day, try to increase the number of your weights. This is how your body grows into a perfect one. If you try and lift all combinations of weights on a single day then you are hurting your body and chances of injury is high. Therefore, train to failure and not for failure.
4. Avoiding Consumption Of Fats
People always have this misconception that if they eat fats, they become fat. Wrong! Fats form an integral part of an everyday healthy diet. Our body requires everything —proteins, carbohydrates, and fats if it needs to function properly. The only thing we need to pay attention to is whether the fats we are consuming fall into the healthy fats category or the unhealthy fats category. When you’re working out it is good to load your body on healthy fats such as avocados, olive oil, etc.
5. Trying Everything At Once
When a person feels enlightened about how important having a healthy body is, he or she gives in more than a hundred percent effort in working towards it. They begin to try everything — they want to tone arms, lose the belly fat, get the perfect legs. They feel like they want to achieve everything at once which is a very wrong way to move towards achieving a dream body. Fix your body goals step by step, only then will you be able to achieve your dream body in reality.
6. Smoking And Drinking
If you are going to the gym to get some gains, then you need to steer clear from habits like smoking and drinking. Because all the hard work that you put at the gym will go to waste if you drink it up. At the same time, we’re not asking you to stop it completely. All we’re trying to say is limit the habit if you have any.
To achieve a perfect body, one needs to work on it both inside and outside the gym. Working out and exercising alone will not yield any positive results. You have to take care of what you eat, how you eat, and what habits you are indulging in as well.
